5.2 Approve Annual Ralph Phillips Business Partner of the Year Dinner

Nickoli that expenses for Pioneer board members, administrators and representative to attend the Pioneer Career and Technology Center's Ralph Phillip's Business Partner of the Year Dinner meeting to be held on Thursday, March 14, 2019 in accordance with Section 3315.15 ORC, be approved.


5.3 Approve Annual All Board Member/Administrator Dinner

5.4 Approve Appointment of Richland County Tax Incentive Review

5.5 Approve 2019-2020 Agreement with North Central State College for College Credit Plus Courses

6. FINANCIAL REPORT

Minutes

Treasurer Schumacher reported she is working on the new five-year forecast and will have that ready by the May Board meeting.  Since January 1 the fiscal department has implemented Bonefish systems, a vendor and payroll security software, hired a new TPA, Mutual Health Services, for Pioneer's health plan. They are scheduled to introduce themselves at the March staff meeting.  Just recently the final training for SC View, a paperless requisition and purchase order software, was completed. We are also sending the last of the student records to be scanned. We will be ordering a new scanner for student services and the Board office and all scanning will be done in house from this time forward.

Pioneer made over $24,000 in the Richland Bank Portfolio. – due to 4 commercial paper accounts reaching maturity at an income of over $4,00 each. In total we earned over $46,000 in interest in January.

Schumacher reported we will be making the $425,360 transfer from the General Fund to the 034 Maintenance Fund in February.We will be making the $400,000 transfer from the General Fund to the 003 Permanent Improvement Fund in March.

Pioneer received $67,068.22 in Casino monies from the state in January.

Karrie Davisson, Library/Media Specialist - Presentation on Ohio Esports Triathlon

Mrs. Davisson reported on the new Esports team being formed at Pioneer.  They will be a part of the Ohio Esports Triathlon.  Pioneer will have a team of 10 students competing.  This is the initial season for Esports in Ohio.  Eight schools will be participating.

Minutes

Superintendent Nickoli reported that sophomore visitations were complete.  They had to be moved back a week due to inclement weather, but all are complete.  Enrollment applications are flowing into the school.

Due to the weather, Pioneer has begun to use their blizzard bags.

Nickoli reported that he, Mr. Kowalski, Mr. Dzugan, Mrs. Schumacher, Mr. Prater and Mr. Smith attended Legislative Conference in January.  All were well received by Legislators.  Mr. Prater commented on how well the meetings went and how appreciative he is of our staff.

The Board was asked to review the 2019-2020 school calendar as they will be voting on it's approval next month.

Superintendent Nickoli reminded Board Members of upcoming events including the Ralph Phillips Business Partner of the Year Dinner, OSBA Regional Conference, Pioneer's 50th Anniversary Celebration and the Pioneer All-Board Dinner.

Nickoli reported all personnel items are normal for this time of year and requested that the Board meet in Executive Session to consider the employment of a public employee or official.
